Third-graders are now welcome at Club 45 until it takes a summer break.

Meetings start at 6:30 pm and last until 8 pm Tuesdays in the Lighthouse Children’s Building where we have Kidz Church on weekends.

Meetings this month are May 1, 8, 15 and 22. The group doesn’t meet during weeks with a Monday holiday or during school breaks. So, it will resume in August with the current crop of of 3rd and 4th graders who then will be 4th and 5th graders.

Shanna Waggoner leads the group. The club has some fun and games, but calms down for a time to pray and share a lesson or activity with a spiritual emphasis. It’s OK to wear modest PJs and bring a pillow to the Club 45 get-togethers.

Collection of canned goods is the emphasis this month at Club 45 in as it continues to look for ways to help the homeless of our community by supporting the Twin Cities Rescue Mission. Even those not in Club 45 are allowed to help in the project. Canned food items may be dropped off at the church on weekends and placed in the Club 45 “Corner” just inside the Kidz Church front doors.

Plan NOW to attend Kids Camp (for those going into 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th grades) June 25, 26, 27 and 28 at Diamond Arrow Camp, outside Nevada City. Registration is available online at www.sacramentocamps.org. Prices are:

$195 | registered online by May 28
$220 | registered online by June 23
$230 | walk on registration at camp

Campers from Hope Point have a chance to earn part of their camp fees this week by selling tickets to the April 28 Car Wash and working in the car wash with a sponsoring adult (parent, grandparent, indentured servant or somebody else with experience herding cats). Hours are 9 to 1. Tickets are available at the Children’s Ministry office. Call Children’s Ministry team member Lynette Betts at 701-2105 to sign up for a shift (8:30 to 11 or 11 to 1:30). Others can help kids attend camp by donating or buying items for a yard sale/camp fundraiser happening at the same time, all at the Lighthouse on the Yuba City Hope Point Nazarene Campus at 600 N. George Washington Blvd. Call Lynette also if you have things to donate for the yard sale. Our fabulous children’s camp is amazing! The campers have chapel, sing crazy songs, do crafts, pool games and so much more! Join us as we learn about The Fantastic Four! No, we’re not talking about Mr. Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Human Torch, and the Thing, but we will be using this super hero theme to learn about how God the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit want to work together with you to create a Fantastic Team! So, strap on your cape, grab your mask, and come share this Super experience with us! Some great features at Diamond Arrow Campground…

Enclosed cabins, fresh mountain air and tall pine trees

Supportive and caring staff of committed Christian adults

Outrageous recreational activities and swimming every day

Small group sharing and daily teaching from God’s Word

New friends from over 40 cities in Northern California

Awesome chapel lessons and great music in an outdoor amphitheater

Rockwall, zipline, 100-foot slip-and-slide and other fun outdoor games

Pastor Brent Kall’s plate has expanded to include Children’s Ministries and Student Ministries.

Senior Pastor Gary Moore said that Brent will remain hands-on in Student Ministries, but also will oversee the Children’s Department. The new arrangement is patterned after a model that Pastor Moore said he first saw 25 years ago. It provides for greater continuity where kids 0-18 years fall under one umbrella.

The changes for Pastor Brent and Pastor Tad, who is now working with adult ministries including First Impressions and facilities, are part of a gradual adjustment in responsibilities for pastors at Hope Point.

Pastor Brent and his wife, Lori, have been part of Hope Point Nazarene for several years. They have three children and live in the Royo Ranchero area in Yuba City.

Since he joined the staff in 2009, his responsibilities in the congregation have increased beyond youth and student ministries. He preaches regularly on Saturday nights at Hope Point in Yuba City and sometimes fills in Sundays for Pastor Moore.

Brent was raised in Southern California, where he attended Whittier College Avenue Church of the Nazarene, where he came to faith as a child and was baptized. He studied at Point Loma Nazarene University, graduating in 1993 with a degree in graphic communications. As a senior, God changed his goals and direction from a career in graphic arts to ministry.

After three years working in student ministry at a San Diego-area church, he went back to school, earning a masters in religious education at Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City. Prior to Hope Point, he pastored students in Southern California, Kansas City, Atlanta, San Jose, and Yuba City. Brent was ordained as an Elder in the Church of the Nazarene in 2003.

Brent loves kids and is committed to leading them into a personal relationship with Jesus and living a life-long journey with Him.
For fun, the Kall family loves spending time together playing games, watching movies, or just goofing around in the back yard. Brent also enjoys the outdoors and playing golf. He surfs, skis, snowboards, trains squirrels and plays softball and tennis. He enjoys watching all types of sports especially college football and basketball. Growing up in LA he became a UCLA Bruins fan and still follows the university’s sports teams.
