Nate Gossett

A little about Nate...

Nate grew up in California and accepted Christ and was baptized at the young age of 8. As a teenager he rebelled, but rededicated his life to Christ. He graduated from Bethany Bible College with a B.A. with a major in Pastoral Theology, and minors in Psychology and Christian Education.

Through the grace of God he married his wife Sue in 1981 and it was then that his walk with the Lord changed. Nate served as Deacon, Director of Adult Christian Education, taught various classes, worked in the nursery, and ministered to the older adult members of the churches in which he served over the next 10 years.

After retirement, Nate and Sue moved to Yuba City and began attending YC Naz. "We felt at home!" In 2004, Pastor Moore asked Nate to consider joining the staff and help to minister to the older folks in the church. At first Nate declined, but in February of 2005, he decided to join the YC Naz team.

Today Nate serves as Adult Ministries Pastor primarily to those over 50, (a.k.a. the PT Cruisers). He is also involved with visitation to hospitals, care facilities, and those confined for one reason or another. He also does counseling and teaches classes when requested. "I used to assist in ministry to older folks... now I are one, so I guess I'll just keep on assisting!" In his spare time, Nate loves to garden, walk and go to the gym. He and Sue have four grown children and 6 grandchildren.
