Title: Pastor of Student Ministries

A little about Brent...

Brent was raised in Southern California attending Whittier College Avenue Church of the Nazarene where he was saved at a young age and baptized. He graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University in 1993 with a Degree in Graphic Communications with the intent of working as an artist, but during his senior year, God changed the direction of his life. He began his time in student ministry at a Spring Valley Friends Church just East of San Diego.

After 3 years he packed up and headed to Kansas City where he received his Masters of Religious Education Degree from Nazarene Theological Seminary. Since then he has pastored students in Southern California, Kansas City, Atlanta, San Jose, and Yuba City. Brent was ordained as an Elder in the Church of the Nazarene in 2003.

Brent loves students and is committed to leading them into a personal relationship with Jesus. He is also passionate about challenging students not to settle for a mere existence, but rather a deep rich life found in truly following Jesus. He is focused on helping them navigate their way through this portion of their journey of faith and believes that the best context in which that takes place is among a community of believers who are honestly on this journey as well.

Brent and his wife Lori have three children. They love spending time together as a family playing games, watching movies, or just goofing around in the back yard. In his free time he enjoys getting outdoors and playing golf. He also likes to surf, ski, snowboard, train squirrels and play softball and tennis. He enjoys watching all types of sports especially college football and basketball. Growing up in LA he is a UCLA fan and loves to catch a game at the Rosebowl or Pauley Pavilion any time he can.
