Juanita Lawson

Title: Assistant Treasurer

A little about Juanita...

Juanita isn't sure exactly when she became a regluar attender at YC Nazarene but she thinks it was "some time in the '70s." At that time the church was located on Del Norte Avenue across from the hospital. When the services were moved to Richland Road waiting for he George Washington campus to be built, she was ask by the pastor to be one of the counters - this gave way to her first opportunity to become personally involved. When the church treasurer left the area she was then asked to fill that position and she gladly accepted. Then she realized that during tax season her own business was working her 60+ hours a week and she requested that they find someone to take her place - that's when Linda Arnold came on board and Juanita has been her Assistant Treasurer for the past 13 years. "I have been so thankful to be an active part of this church."

Juanita graduated from a Presbyterian University at Decatur, Ill. and was married at the First Christian Church of Danville, Ill.

"My church attendance in Californai was varied but I have always had a deep faith in the Lord, the One and Only God." However she had no specific church affiliation until she began attending the YC Nazarene Church. "The endearing friendships I have made, the inspiring messages I have heard, the spiritual leadership that is present, and the uplifting music have all contributed to enrich my walk with the Lord."

Juanita also considers it a blessing to share a birthday with Jesus!
